Oo Meh (Hannah Oo) — Where Culture Meets Compassion
From the heart of the Karenni community to the vibrant city of Minneapolis, Oo Meh, known to many as Hannah Oo, has devoted her life to creating connection — through leadership, art, and the timeless power of identity.
A graduate of the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities, she earned a degree in Family Social Science with a minor in Art, blending empathy with creativity. But beyond her academic achievements, Oo Meh defines herself as a mother, community leader, artist, and friend — roles she carries with grace and intention.
Raised in a traditional family, she learned early that our identity shapes who we are — it grounds us, connects us, and carries our story forward. That belief became her life’s compass. Today, she continues to build spaces where the Karenni spirit is not only remembered, but celebrated and lived with pride.
Driven by curiosity and kindness, Oo Meh approaches life with an open heart. Whether mentoring youth, engaging in community projects, or exploring her artistic side, she leads with sincerity and purpose. Her energy reflects the quiet strength of someone who believes deeply in people — in listening, uplifting, and learning together.
Among her many initiatives, Oo Meh founded Rmwear (Reh & Meh Wear) — an online clothing brand that honors Karenni culture through modern design. Each piece she created told a story: tradition reimagined with contemporary style. Though Rmwear is currently on pause, its spirit — like her — continues to inspire.
Her favorite words mirror the way she lives every day:
“We come into this world with reason and purpose.I choose kindness, understanding, and positivity —to stay open, to accept, and to embrace change, knowing that what’s meant for me will always find its way.”
In every role she holds, Oo Meh reminds us that culture and compassion can walk hand in hand — and that leadership, at its best, begins with love.
