Khin P Lay – From Refugee Roots to Leadership and Empowerment in Canada
Born in a Karenni refugee camp, Khin P Lay’s journey is one of perseverance, purpose, and growth. In late 2012, she moved to Canada to pursue her education — a bold step that transformed her life and opened new paths for her and her people.
With a strong background in Human Resources and Leadership, she now serves in a senior HR and Labour Relations role, guiding teams with compassion, professionalism, and integrity. Beyond her full-time role, she also shares her expertise as an Instructor in the Business Management Diploma program, inspiring the next generation of leaders.
Since 2020, she has also been serving as the Chairperson of the Karenni Society of Canada, proudly representing and supporting the Karenni community across the country. Her leadership continues to strengthen the bonds of unity, culture, and hope among Karenni people in Canada and beyond.
Her entrepreneurial spirit shines through her success as a property investor, a journey she began at just 27 years old.
